We’ve Set Our Eyes on Helping CHOP!

Posted by Elliot Franz | Posted on October 5, 2015

Gulden Ophthalmics wants to do its part to “help the world see and look better.” In addition to designing, developing, and manufacturing tools for eyecare professionals, we recently started an online fundraising campaign for the Ophthalmology Department at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). You can find our CHOP donor page HERE. Please consider donating securely on our page (100% of your giving goes to CHOP)!

As a leading pediatric ophthalmology center, CHOP’s team of ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals strive to provide the highest-level care for a child’s eye or vision condition. In fact, out of all pediatric research hospitals, CHOP has the distinction of receiving the most NIH research grants. Doctors and researchers at CHOP are actively involved in studies to better understand and treat conditions such as retinopathy of prematurity, cataracts, optic nerve disorders, and more.

The idea to support a charity began at a company meeting. Gulden is a small company, so we decided to maximize our contribution by selecting only one charity to partner with. Five or six charities were suggested. After all employees had voted, it was decided that CHOP would be the beneficiary of our giving campaign. Gulden works to help doctors deliver the best possible care to their patients by manufacturing innovative ophthalmic tools. A philanthropic relationship with the CHOP Ophthalmology Department is a natural extension of that mission.

We were very happy to learn that we could create an online giving page sponsored by the hospital. In addition to making it easy for people to give, an online campaign provides a space for community volunteers to share their stories. In the future, Gulden will be able to use the page to collect donations for events.

Children who see better, do better in life. So, we want to do all that we can to help kids grow and thrive. To learn more about about CHOP’s Ophthalmology Department, click HERE.
