Gulden’s New Laser Eye Shields

Gulden’s New Laser Eye Shields and Non-Coherent Light-Treatment Eye Shields Protect Patients’ Eyes During Laser, UV, Bright LED, and Other Procedures.

The novel construction permits coverage of one or both eyes or portions of eyes while exposing the glabella, nose, crow’s feet, and other areas for surgical, laser, and other therapy procedures. like static eye models, this new model opens and disassembles to provide an inside, functional view of the eye; identified parts help to promote better patient understanding of the eye and its structure.

Laser Eye Shields and Non-Coherent Light-Treatment Eye Shields

ELKINS PARK, PA – Gulden Ophthalmics has introduced a new series of eye shields to protect patients’ eyes, during laser and surgical procedures such as microdermabrasion and acne treatments; pigmentation elimination; hair removal; evening out of complexions; improving the appearance of sun damaged skin (often referred to as “photofacials); and other procedures. The eye shields are lightweight, very comfortable for patients and provide unobstructed access for treating all areas near the eyes. Non-reflective surfaces protect personnel by dispersing the laser or IPL wavelengths so they are not reflected back to healthcare staff members. The Durette® III and IV provide protection for all common wavelengths of lasers and IPL; there is no need to inventory various models for different wavelengths, making the eye shields economical and eliminating the cumbersome and sometimes troublesome need to match the eye shield protection to specific laser wavelengths. The shields do not put pressure on the eye orbit, so patients are comfortable and can open their eyes for comfort and to check for light leaks. They are provided with a medium plastic sterilizing tray, require very low maintenance, and are extremely durable.

  • Durette IV Stainless-Steel Laser Shields are equipped with mobile metal swivels, attachments, and elastic headbands that protect patients’ eyes from all laser wavelengths while permitting procedures to be performed. Their elastic headbands and metal swivels permit positioning the eye shield to facilitate procedures while protecting the patient’s eyes. The Durette IV Kit contains two metal eye cups, two nasal and two temporal metal attachments, two elastic headbands and a medium plastic sterilizing tray.
  • Durette III Stainless-Steel Laser Shields are equipped with mobile plastic swivels attachments, and elastic headbands that protect patients’ eyes from all laser wavelengths while permitting procedures to be performed. Their elastic headbands and plastic swivels permit positioning the eye shield to facilitate procedures while protecting the patient’s eyes. The Durette III Kit contains two metal eye cups, four nasal and four temporal plastic attachments, two elastic headbands and a medium plastic sterilizing tray.
  • Durette Plastic Eye Shields can be used with non-coherent visible light created by fluorescent lamps; bright LEDs or diachronic filament bulbs; visible violet light in the 405 to 420nm range; with light therapy for skin conditions like psoriasis or eczema which use UVA or UVB phototherapy; and other light sources such as in pUVA treatment; light therapy with red and near infrared LEDs; Photodynamic Therapy lamps; optimized, narrowband light via an LED matrix; and narrowband LEDs. The plastic eye shields are NOT suitable for use with laser, any flash lamp, or IPL system that operates in burst modes of multiple pulse trains. The eye shields are available in black and white plastic; white eye shields employ a white elastic headband and black eye shields employ a black elastic headband. The Durette Kit contains two plastic eye cups, four nasal and four temporal plastic attachments, two elastic headbands and a medium plastic sterilizing tray.
