ELKINS PARK, PA – Gulden has expanded its highly useful line of Dovie Cards to include new desk-reference sizes, in addition to the popular pocket size versions, and the line now includes the new DM/HTN Dovie cards.
The Dovie Ophthalmic Drug Cards have been updated to include over 65 of the most commonly used ophthalmic medications. They are available in pocket size (5 1/2″ x 4 1/2″) and desk-reference size (10″ x 6 1/2″). They include manufacturer, available strengths, available sizes, and typical dosage data. The cards also include information on pediatric dosing, the mechanism action of some drugs, and also include information on some oral medications. The cards are color coded and categorized by diagnoses for easy use and quick reference.
The all-new color-coded Dovie DM/HTN Cards provide up-to-date information on diabetes and hypertension, two conditions associated with ophthalmologic complications. Included is the classification of related retinopathies, ICD-9 codes, and information on systemic medications for quick reference. Useful data include a HbA1c to blood glucose conversion scale, CSME definitions and diabetic retinopathy grading guide, JNC7 definitions for hypertension staging, Scheie HR and AS retinopathy grading scales, a list of common ocular complications, and over fifteen related ICD-9 codes.
The updated Dovie Peds and Pupil Cards has been reformatted to be more thorough in it’s presentation of pediatric eye care, now presented as the “Dovie Optometric Pediatrics Card. Additions include amblyogenic refractive error prescribing guidelines, classification of congenital nystagmus and common pediatric-approved topical ophthalmic medications. The card provides current information on the 11 most common binocular vision disorders and their associated clinical exam findings. Included are binocular vision and accommodative testing normal/expected values for many common pediatric/binocular vision disorders. Also included is a pupil reference guide illustrating several common papillary anomalies and information on how to test and confirm diagnosis, along with associated ICD-9 billing codes. These cards can be used as a quick reference guide when the ophthalmic doctor needs pediatric (binocularity/accommodative) testing and billing information.
